It's National Apprenticeship Awareness Week #NAW2024 and throughout the week we will be sharing updates about Ryebridge Construction’s ongoing commitment to recruiting local apprentices.
Meet James Arnall. James is studying a Level 4 Higher Apprenticeship at Bedford College and has been with Ryebridge since starting his Level 3.
The plan for James is to continue gaining experience onsite while progressing to his top up year and Honours Degree in Civil Engineering. James is currently onsite at London Luton Airport on a current Ryebridge project, supporting the Site Manager with setting out tasks, inductions, material procurement and record keeping.
James said he was attracted by the variety and diversity of the construction industry: “You’ll never have the same day twice. I spent a week in the offices and then was out on site working on the hydraulics and drainage of the DART transit system at Luton Airport.
“My course is very well rounded, covering everything from construction management to health and safety. I’m learning a lot!”
Ryebridge CEO Daniel Coyle said: “There are lots of opportunities within the construction industry and at the end of our apprentices’ studies the world is their oyster. Their course will not define them.
“Our apprentices end up staying with us as we can offer the support and structure they need to grow in their careers.”
